Werksessie “Energiegemeenschap” – Greentrack / “Energy Community” working session – Greentrack

The cultural sector in Ghent would like to become climate neutral. Many organisations are already buying renewable energy through group purchases. Different organisations have already investigated whether they can install solar panels themselves – which is often not evident for heritage buildings. We are therefore also investigating the possibility to create ‘energy communities‘ whereby an owner of a large roof can install solar panels and share the yield with cultural organisations.

On November 17, we will organise a working session at the Café of Music Center De Bijloke where we will look at a specific offer, together with the Department of Environment and Climate. By the end of this session, we want to get a view on which organisations would like to form such an energy community. So, this is not just a theoretical thinking exercise, but a specific step towards an energy community. Anyone interested is, of course, welcome!
