We bouwen verder op het thema van de laatste werkgroep en leggen de focus op EYC 2024, Gent jongerenhoofdstad in 2024. Hoe ziet Gent eruit als filmstad voor een jong publiek en met jonge makers? En kunnen Gentse filmfestivals (en andere vertoners) een gezamenlijk traject opzetten met jongeren richting de editie(s) en programmatie van 2024?

Wie wil zich daarvoor engageren en in welke mate? Kunnen we good practices delen? Organiseren we gezamenlijke focusgesprekken en welke vragen willen we daarbij stellen? Zijn er bestaande trajecten waar anderen bij kunnen aansluiten? Welke festivals richten zich al specifiek naar een jong publiek? Zijn er andere vertoners met een ambitie om in te zetten op jongeren naar/in 2024? Welke verantwoordelijkheid kunnen/willen we geven aan jongeren? Wat willen de aanwezige jongeren zelf? Hoe zien zij hun betrokkenheid?
Tijdens een 1ste brainstorm leggen we de basis voor een actieplan, zodat Gentse filmvertoners de betrokkenheid van jongeren binnen hun werking kunnen verhogen. Bedankt om ter voorbereiding op te lijsten wat je nu al zelf doet binnen jouw werking voor jongeren. Denk zeker ook even na over bovenstaande vragen.
De werkgroep zal de komende maanden nog andere netwerkmomenten organiseren met het oog op EYC2024 en het traject dan benaderen vanuit andere invalshoeken (die van filmmakers, in een specifieke link met onderwijs, … )

Film Fest Gent – café – Ter Platen 12, 9000 Ghent
We build on the theme of the last working group and focus on EYC 2024, Ghent youth capital in 2024. What does Ghent look like as a film city for a young audience and with young creators? And can Ghent film festivals (and other exhibitors) set up a joint trajectory with youngsters towards the 2024 edition(s) and programming?

Who wants to commit to this and to what extent? Can we share good practices? Do we organise joint focus conversations and which questions do we want to ask in these? Are there existing trajectories which others can join? Which festivals do already specifically target a young audience? Are there other exhibitors with an ambition to engage with youngsters towards/in 2024? Which responsibility can/would we give to youngsters? What do the present youngsters want themselves? How do they see their involvement?
During a first brainstorm session, we will lay the foundation for an action plan so that Ghent film exhibitors can increase the involvement of youngsters within their operations. Thank you for listing in preparation what you are already doing now for youngsters within your operation. Be sure to think about the questions mentioned above as well.
The working group will organise other networking moments in the upcoming months with a view to EYC2024 and approach the trajectory from other angles (those of film makers, in a specific link with education, …).
